Rubisco came to us after receiving a website build from a local agency that wasn't up to their standard. I set out to build them a website that made better use of their brand and told their story using interesting layouts. This website was built in Webflow using client-first development techniques.

branding
I set out to capture their branding for the website and to lean in to their earthy color palette. Their brand was already made but the documentation gave little direction to its application.
In selecting colours from their brand guide I set out to use a typeface that was timeless and legible. I kept the colour palette subdued so that the photography would shine overtop.
Style
concepts
I worked to showcase different website elements and how we could optimize the brand to best tell their story. I paid special attention to contrast, legebility and use of their logo in different elements.

ux and wireframing
While the website doesn't have a huge number of pages, their content is quite dense. My goal was to give the different components breathing room and unique layouts to keep user retention strong. The goal of the website is to get users the information they need, then to provide them the proper chanels to reach out - as seamlessly as possible.

ui and designs
With our style guide and UX in place, it was time to bring everything together. I focused on clean design, diverse layouts and bringing in imagery where I could.

client
testimonial

"Matt first took interest in our website after seeing us struggling with the design phase from a more established agency. He whipped up a ‘look and feel’ slide of what he thought we could achieve and the rest was history. Nailed it first try, completely understood what the brand was about and what we were trying to convey with our web presence. We then worked back through the wireframing, and then full designs and at each stage I was blown away by not only the quality of the work, but the efficiency and professionalism every step of the way.
Matt is my back-pocket go-to designer for anything I need now, and I cannot recommend him enough."
